Charlotte Bronte
(April 21, 1816 – March 31, 1855)
Charlotte was born in Thornton, Yorkshire in 1816. She was the third of six children and the eldest of the Bronte sisters.She had a very hard life growing up. Charlotte and her sisters liked to read poetry before they went to sleep to help focus on other things besides their home life. Source 4She attended boarding school. She married an Irish clergyman named Patrick Bronte. She ended up being the only sibling that survived. Charlotte and her three sisters decided to open their own school. She received her education at Roe Head. She met her lifelong friends and correspondents, Ellen Nussey and Mary Taylor. Charlotte Bronte had three pen names, Lord Charles, Albert Florian, and Wellesley Currer Bell. Her books sparked a movement in regards to feminine in literature.
